DDT-4210 / DDR-4211  270 Mb / ASI / SDI Fibre Optic Link

Features:

  • Transports 270 Mb/s signals, such as ASI, SDI, etc.
  • Path lengths up to 31dB optical path loss using 9/125µm single mode fibre.
  • Passes SMPTE 259M 270 Mb/s SDI pathological test sequence.
  • LED indicators and external alarm contacts.
  • Fibre, video and alarm connections at rear.
  • Optional plug-in SNMP monitoring module.
  • Eliminates ground loop problems.

General

The IRT DDT-4210 transmitter and DDR-4211 receiver are modules designed principally for use as a 270 Mb/s SMPTE/EBU serial digital video fibre optic transmission link, using 9/125µm single mode fibre, with optical paths losses up to 31dB.
The transmit / receive system specifications apply to all signal conditions, including the SMPTE 259M pathological test sequence.
In addition, the link may be used for ASI transport streams for use with MPEG compressed video streams or other 270 Mb/s type data. On board links may also be set to transport STM-1 (155 Mb/s) type signals.
The transmitter features automatic input cable equalisation and a choice of plug-in LASER modules of various wavelengths (ordered separately).
LED indicators are provided for digital signal presence, DC power and LASER output power out of rang

The DDR-4211 receiver uses a PIN photodiode detector with signal conditioning and reclocking circuits. The data rate is factory set for 270 Mb/s operation. Link settings allow STM-1 data rates (electrical and optical) to be set for interfacing with IRT's STM-1 interface cards.
Two serial digital outputs are provided. LED indicators are provided for digital signal presence and power.
Relay contact outputs are also provided for external use of alarm signals on both modules.
An optional SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) plug-in module is available, for each unit, for remote monitoring when used in conjunction with IRT's 4000 series frame fitted with SNMP capability.
The DDT-4210 and DDR-4211 are Eurocard modules designed to fit IRT's standard Eurocard frames as well as IRT's 4000 series frames for use with IRT's SNMP system and may be used alongside any other of IRT’s analogue or digital Eurocards.

DDT-4220 / DDR-4225 270Mb/s / ASI / SDI 4 Channel MUX Fibre Link

Features

  • 270 Mb/s type signals, such as ASI and SDI, capability.
  • Automatic cable equalisation for up to 200m on each input.
  • Maximum optical path loss of 32dB.
  • External urgent and non-urgent alarms for system monitoring.
  • Optional plug-in SNMP monitoring module.

Applications:

  • Multichannel digital with data on a single fibre.
  • Upgrade capacity of existing fibre.
  • Maintain timing between related signals by ensuring same path transmission delay

General

The DDT-4220 accepts up to four 270 Mb/s input signals which may be ASI, SDI or a mixture of each type. The signals need not be phase or frequency synchronous.
The signals are time division multiplexed into a single 1.302 Gb/s stream and transmitted via single mode fibre to the DDR-4225 receiver, which performs the reverse operation and restores correct 270 Mb/s timing.
In addition to the four 270 Mb/s channels, a single RS422 channel is included for transmission of auxiliary data at rates of up to 9600 baud.
The DDT-4220/DDR-4225 optical system is primarily designed for use with a 9/125µm single mode fibre and will allow an optical path loss from 4dB up to 32dB.

An optional Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) plug-in module is available for remote monitoring of input and output status and alarm states.
The DDT-4220 transmitter comes available with a choice of standard 1310nm laser (order code DDT-4220/1300) or a DFB 1550nm laser (order code DDT-4220/1550). Other wavelengths are available on request. The DDR-4225 receiver is the same regardless of transmitter wavelength.
The modules are designed to fit IRT’s standard Eurocard frames as well as IRT’s 4000 series frame
for use with IRT’s SNMP system and may be used alongside any other of IRT’s analogue or digital
Eurocard.

HDT-4611 / HDR-4611  High Definition TV Fibre Optic Link

Features

  • One type covers 1.485 Gb/s High Definition or 270 Mb/s data signals.
  • Work reliably over 5 - 31 dB optical path range using 9/125µm single mode fibre.
  • Passes SMPTE 292M pathological test sequence at 1.485 Gb/s and 270 Mb/s data.
  • LED indicators and external alarm contacts.
  • Fibre, video and alarm connections at rear.
  • Optional plug-in SNMP monitoring module.

General

The IRT HDT-4611 and HDR-4611 are transmit and receive modules designed principally for use as a SMPTE292M 1.485 Gb/s serial digital video fibre optic transmission link, using 9/125µm single mode fibre for path lengths with path attenuation of 5- 31dB. This enables the use of space saving fibre optic cable for reliable transmission of digital video signals over lengths greater than can be provided with coaxial cable. The transmit / receive system specifications apply to all signal conditions, including the SMPTE292M pathalogical test sequence.
The HDT-4611 transmitter features an input circuit with automatic cable equalisation for Belden 8281 (or equivalent) coaxial cable followed by a plug in laser transmitter.
The HDR-4611 receiver uses a plug in APD detector preamplifier module, signal conditioning and a reclocking circuit for the 1.485 Gb/s data rate, or for 270 Mb/s SDI and ASI signals. Two in phase serial digital outputs are provided from the transmission link on the rear assembly.

On the HDT-4611 transmitter LED indicators on the front panel indicate the presence of signal, loss of laser power and presence of DC power. Relay contact outputs for remote indication will indicate failure of the laser operation, loss of input signal, and loss of power.
On the HDR-4611 receiver LED indicators on the front panel indicate PLL lock at 1.485 Gb/s or 270 Mb/s operation, locked signal presence, optical input failure, and presence of DC power. Relay contact outputs for remote indication will indicate loss of signal, loss of optical input, and loss of power.
An optional SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) plug-in module is available, for each unit, for remote monitoring when used in conjunction with IRT's 4000 series frame fitted with SNMP capability.
The HDT-4611 and HDR-4611 are Eurocard modules designed to fit IRT's standard Eurocard frames as well as IRT's 4000 series frames for use with IRT's SNMP system and may be used alongside any other of IRT’s analogue or digital Eurocards.
