AMS-1000
10 x 1 Video
+ Audio Passive Switcher
Applications:
-
Monitoring of slave machines in dubbing
suites
- Patchbay replacement
Features:
-
10 input video & audio switching in one
unit
- Balanced single channel or unbalanced
stereo audio
- Simple passive switching
- Self indicating pushbuttons
General
The AMS-1000 is a passive 10 x 1 video
and audio switcher intended for use in non-critical switching and
monitoring applications.
Inputs are selected by switches, which are mechanically interlocked. A
white flag indicator clearly shows the selected switch from a distance
without the need for power.
Video: All non-selected video sources are terminated in 75 Ω. The
selected video input is switched through to the output and must be
terminated at the destination.
Audio: The audio consists of two identical circuits for each switch
position. These may be designated as a pair for balanced operation or as
Left and Right channels for unbalanced stereo operation.
All audio lines are loaded with 10 kΩ
at the input. The selected pair are connected to the output connector
and the total loading will be that of the destination in parallel with
the switcher loading.
The switcher is housed in an IRT one rack unit (480 x 230 x 44 mm), 19"
rack mounting chassis with video connections via BNC connectors and
audio via plug in terminal blocks.

AVS-1210 10 x 1 Video Switcher
Features
-
10 x 1 or two may be linked for 20 x 1 operation.
- Control system
allows linking to audio, SDI and data
- Supports multiple
remote and local control panels.
- User upgradeable
from remote to local control.
General
The AVS-1210 10 x 1 video switcher is a
selfcontained, mains powered unit requiring one unit of rack mounting
space. It has the capability to switch any one of its ten video inputs
to its video output.
The output has two isolated feeds. Selection of the required input is
made via a "D" type connector mounted on the rear panel, using a 4 or 5
bit code or optional ground per crosspoint connection.
The switcher can be fitted with a CPS-1210 10 x 1 or a CPS-1220 dual 10
x 1 (20 x 1) Control Panel, or remotely controlled using CPS-1050 10 x 1
or CPS-1052 20 x 1 remote control panels.
Two switchers may be linked to provide 20 x 1 operation using either a
CPS-1220 locally or CPS-1052 remotely.
The switchers are housed in an IRT one
rack unit (44 mm high) 483 mm (19 inch) metal chassis. The input and
output circuit connections are by means of BNC connectors, accessible
from the rear panel of the unit.
Control/tally connections to the switch data buss are made to a pair of
25 pin "D" connectors on the rear panel.
An internal AC mains powered regulated power supply provides the
operating voltages for the switcher circuitry. A selector on the rear
panel allows matching to local mains supply voltages.

AVS-3011
Analogue Video
Switcher
Features
- 5 x 1 analogue
video with looping inputs.
- May be cascaded to 20 x 1.
- Local or remote control options.
- Universal wire per crosspoint or binary coded
remote control.
- Compatible with other 3000 series analogue &
digital switchers.
- May be mounted in same frame as other IRT
Eurocards. including VDA’s, ADA’s, detectors and processors.
General
The AVS-3011 analogue video switcher is
part of a family of "smart" switchers in Eurocard format that may be
linked and configured by the user to cover a wide range of switching and
monitoring functions.
The AVS-3011 supersedes the AVS-3010 and provides all of its
predecessors functions together with added static protection and user
configurable grounding wire per crosspoint remote control.
On board links allow several switchers to be joined for 10x1, 15x1 or
20x1 operation.
The switcher may be slaved to operate in conjunction with other 3000
series switchers for analogue audio, digital video and RS422 or similar
control signals.
This makes the switchers ideally suited to situations where a mixture of
analogue and digital signals is present.
The CPS-3050 local control switch panel kit
converts the switcher for stand-alone operation.
The CPS-9001 provides a 5 button remote control in a panel the same size as
the CPS-3050.
The CPS-1050 and 1052, 1 RU remote control panels allow formation of 10x1,
15x1 or 20x1 combinations. All panels have tally LED's and switch label
inserts. Multiple panels may be used with tally to each panel. A complete
video plus stereo audio switcher can be assembled from just two modules and
can be accommodated in a single rack unit frame.

AVS-3170 Video,
Data & IF 5 x 1 Relay Switcher
Features
-
Suitable for video, SDI,
ASI, RF, ACS or high speed digital
signals.
-
May be used for G.703 MPEG transport
streams.
-
Economical switcher for 2, 8, 34 & 45 Mb/s
data signals.
-
Termination impedance may be easily changed
from 75Ω to 50Ω or open circuit.
-
Default path from source 1 on power fail.
-
Compatible with 3000 series switchers or
wire per crosspoint control.
General
The AVS-3170 5
x 1 relay switcher for video and RF is a passive
unbalanced circuit relay switcher.
The relays used are low capacitance reed relays
wired to minimise crosstalk from the unused
inputs and thus allow the switcher to be used
with RF or video signals exceeding 140 MHz.
This also allows the switcher to be used for
highspeed digital signals with minimal effect on
the pulse risetime.
When used at very high data rates the small
amount of high frequency attenuation may be
corrected by following the switcher with a data
distribution amplifier. This not only provides
automatic equalisation, but also source
isolation and multiple outputs.
Termination resistors for 75Ω signals are fitted
as standard. These may be easily changed to 50Ω
for RF signals or removed for switching TTL or
other signals.
When the
switcher is not powered, relay 1 circuit
switches input 1 to the output thus providing a
secure path during power failures.
The AVS-3170 5 x 1 relay switcher is designed to
interface with other IRT Eurocard 3000 series
switchers or with the
VG-737 video and
AG-738 audio program fail detectors.
The switcher may be fitted with a local control
panel, type CPS-3050, or with a tally panel,
type
TPS-3010, for local path indication when the
switcher is operated remotely.
The AVS-3170 is built to the IRT Eurocard format
and may be mounted in any of IRT's standard
Eurocard frames together with other Eurocard
modules.

General
The AMS-4370HD is a magnetic latching 4 port
changeover switcher using enhanced performance
relays which provide switching capabilities for
high speed data signals up to 1.4 Gb/s. It is
suitable for switching high definition video,
ASI, SDI or G.703 data streams or analogue video
signals, provided that they have characteristic
impedances of 75Ω.
The AMS-4370HD is arranged as a changeover
switch with two inputs and two outputs. No
terminations are provided on the board allowing
the switcher to be used in a wide variety of
applications and with signals of various types
and impedances.
The magnetic latching characteristic of the high
performance relay allows momentary control and
also provides for no change of path during power
loss. Remote changeoverchangeover is by a
momentary ground connection.The AMS-4370HD is
ideally suited to applications where a simple
choice between two inputs or outputs is required
and may be easily driven by detector circuits
for automatic path selection.
For best performance the outputs should be
connected to inputs with automatic cable
equalisation.
Remote indication of tally and local/remote
status is provided for integration into central
alarm and monitoring systems.
The AMS-4370HD relay card is built to the
Eurocard format and will mount in an IRT 1RU or
