General

The IRT AAC-3390 is an analogue audio to AES/EBU digital audio signal converter, and converts standard stereo analogue audio signals to the AES3-1992 and SMPTE-276 AES digital audio standard.
The input signals are a stereo pair of balanced audio at the standard +4 dBu line up level.
The outputs are three serial digital audio signals; one unbalanced BNC connection on the front panel for monitoring and two from the rear panel assembly. The latter can be 110 Ohms balanced using the ZAC- 3391 rear panel assembly or 75 Ohms unbalanced BNC connections using the ZAC-3390 rear panel assembly.
A further input is provided for a reference AES input signal to lock the signal from the AAC-3390 to a station reference.

The reference input can be either 110 Ohms terminating balanced line or 75 Ohms terminating unbalanced line. Both connections are provided on the rear panel assembly. Selection of the input type is by links on the AAC-3390 main circuit board.

Front panel LED indicators are provided for DC voltage, presence of input audio levels above -30 dBu, lock to external AES reference and overflow at 0 dBFS corresponding to the +24dBu full scale input audio level.

General

The DAI-3206 is a high performance audio embedder for 270 Mbit SDI video signals. It supersedes the earlier DAI-3200 audio embedder.
Existing embedded data packets may be optionally removed and/or replaced via link settings on the PCB.
Each DAI-3206 is capable of inserting one audio group (2 AES signals, 4 analogue channels or combination of AES and analogue pair channels) into an existing SDI video stream. Group position selection is made by the front panel local control. Note that when inserting 2 AES streams, both channels must be frequency locked to each other. Analogue audio is automatically locked to the other AES signal, if present, or else to the SDI video input.

The DAI-3206 supports AES/EBU synchronous/ asynchronous 48 kHz, 20-bit audio data packets.
An audio presence indicator is provided for each input. If one AES or analogue audio pair is missing then those particular channels are set to zero. If both AES and/or analogue audio pairs are missing (dependent on mode selected), then no packets are inserted.
The DAI-3206 complements the DAX-3206 audio extractor.
The DAI-3206 is fabricated in IRT's standard Eurocard format and may be housed in a variety of IRT Eurocard frames alongside other standard modules

General

The DAX-3206 is a high performance embedded audio extractor for 270 Mbit SDI video signals. It is primarily designed to operate with IRT's DAI-3206 digital audio inserter but will work on any embedded SDI source.
A typical SDI signal may contain up to eight audio pairs arranged in four groups. Each DAX-3206 is capable of extracting one audio group (2 AES / 4 analogue) from those available. Selection is made via a front panel local control switch.
The DAX-3206 supports AES/EBU synchronous and asynchronous audio at 48kHz, 20-bit audio data packets.
Both analogue and digital audio outputs are provided so that the one module may be used for all applications in monitoring and processing.
The use of digital audio filtering and 20-bit digital to analogue converters produce studio quality analogue audio and the AES/EBU digital interface allows digital interconnection in either balanced or unbalanced formats.

An audio presence indicator is provided for each group output. If no audio is detected the corresponding output is muted.
The DAX-3206 complements the DVC-4112 SDI to analogue video converter for full conversion of SDI signals to analogue video and audio.
The DAX-3206 comes configured standard with 110 Ω balanced AES/EBU outputs. 75 Ω unbalanced outputs are available by insertion of links on the rear assembly.

DAC-3440 & 3450 AES/EBU / G.703 (2 Mb/s) Network Interface Adapter

Features

  • Conversion of AES/EBU audio to 2Mb/s G.703 for transport via telecom circuits.
  • Choice of 75Ω unbalanced or 110Ω balanced AES/EBU line connections.
  • 48 kHz 20 bit default sample rate, 25 – 55 kHz rates supported.
  • Optional external AES/EBU reference input for rates other than 48 kHz.
  • Allows Channel (C) or User (U) data to be conveyed.
  • IRT Eurocard format

General

The DAC-3440, together with the DAC 3450, forms a transmitter/receiver system, which is designed to allow an AES/EBU digital audio signal to be distributed via the phone network.
The DAC-3440 converts an AES/EBU digital audio signal into a non-framed G.703 compatible signal.
The DAC-3440 combines the 20 bit audio data with either C data or U data into an output stream at 2.048 Mb/s. This stream is then output as a standard G.703 HDB3 encoded 75Ω unframed signal.
The DAC-3450 converts a G.703 signal, whose content is formatted as per the output of the DAC- 3440, to an AES/EBU data stream. The receiver obtains synchronism with the incoming stream and then separates the audio data from the combined C (or U) data.
The DAC-3450 allows a local reference AES/EBU signal to be input for rate synchronization of the output. With no reference signal present, output rate is automatically set to 48 kHz

The system can handle mono or stereo 20 bit AES/EBU audio at any rate from 25 KHz to 55 kHz, although it is designed for a nominal 48 kHz.
The system also allows either the Channel (C) or User (U) data to be conveyed.
Front panel LEDs indicate when an AES/EBU signal is present and when the input AES/EBU signal sample rate is 48 kHz on the DAC-3440, and when a valid 2.048 Mb/s G.703 input signal is present and when a valid AES/EBU reference signal is applied to the DAC-3450.
A relay output is provided on each of the rear assemblies for remote status indication for when a valid AES/EBU signal is present or invalid.
The DAC-3440 is fabricated in IRT's standard Eurocard format and may be housed in a variety of IRT Eurocard frames alongside other standard modules.

DAA-4400 AES/EBU Distribution Amplifier

General

The DAA-4400 is designed to provide a solution to most AES/EBU digital audio signal distribution requirements.
The DAA-4400 supersedes the DAA-3400 and provides all of its predecessor's functions together with the added option of a plug-in Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) monitoring module for use with IRT's 4000 series SNMP system frame.
The DAA-4400 will operate at any frequency from 34 to 54 kHz and may be used with non-AES digital signals that have a net zero DC content.
Whilst analogue VDA's may be used for 75 Ohm AES signals, the digital circuitry of the DAA-4400 offers the advantage of restoring the signal rise and fall times and output level without the need to manually adjust gain and compensation controls.

Individual rear assemblies are available for 75 Ohm or 110 Ohm use. No changes are required to the main DA to convert between the two output types.
Additional rear assemblies of either type may be ordered separately. Both types include both 110 and 75 Ohm input connectors. The required input is selected by links on the main PCB.
The DAA-4400 is designed to fit IRT's standard Eurocard frames as well as IRT's 4000 series frame for use with IRT's SNMP system and may be used alongside any other of IRT's analogue or digital Eurocards.
